Join us for our ongoing event, Socrates Café, on the first Wednesday of every month (holidays and times when people tend to be on vacation may necessitate changes).


This is a monthly discussion group, hosted by Nina Gettler, where topics are not dictated by a facilitator but are chosen by the attendees who bring their burning questions. While our questions tend toward the philosophical, this is not hard-core philosophy.

Here are a few sample topics that we have discussed: Is cultural appropriation a good or bad thing? Is honesty always the best policy? Is it valid to consider an artist’s personal life when judging their work?


The first drink is on us as we dive into thought-provoking discussions in a relaxed, public venue.


Our meeting dates for 2026 are: March 4, April 8 (because April 1 is the week before Easter when many are on vacation), May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5 (We usually pause in July and August because so many are on vacation. However, if there is enough interest, we are glad to schedule Socrates Café meetings at the usual date/time.), September 2, October 7, November 4, December 2

Time: 6:00 − 8:00 PM

Location: Bar Flora, Park Hotel,  Leonhardstraße 8, 8010 Graz (walk past the reception desk, through a small seating area, and up a couple of steps).
