Film Screening "Fundbox - A Love Story"

KIZ-Royal, Saal 2 (Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße 10, 8010 Graz)

Special screening of the film "Fundbox-A Love Story", with directors, producers, and actors. The film has been selected at nine international film festivals thus far.

After the screening, stay for a round table discussion with:
Miles Merritt and Gail Kempler (Directors), Thomas Bischof (Producer), Florentin Groll (Actor), and other members of the film crew.

Lecture by Inela Selimović “The Cinema of Paula Markovitch: Contested Marginality”

A guest lecture by Inela Selimović (Wellesley College, USA) will take place on May 27, 2026, from 5:00–6:30 PM at Schubertstraße 21. The event is open to everyone; no sign-up required.

The lecture explores the films of Argentine-Mexican director Paula Markovitch, focusing on how her work portrays marginalized individuals and spaces.

Socrates Café

Join us for our ongoing event, Socrates Café, on the first Wednesday of every month (holidays and times when people tend to be on vacation may necessitate changes).

This is a monthly discussion group, hosted by Nina Gettler, where topics are not dictated by a facilitator but are chosen by the attendees who bring their burning questions. While our questions tend toward the philosophical, this is not hard-core philosophy.

Celebrating the Magic of Numbers

The magic of numbers was celebrated at ÖAG headquarters in Vienna on January 21, 2026: 80 years Austrian-American Society (ÖAG), 250 years signing of the Declaration of Independence, 5 regional ÖAG associations (Salzburg, Tyrol, Carinthia, Upper Austria, and Styria), 300 guests and 2 ambassadors.

PaN-Price 2025

On October 22, 2025, the Austrian-American Society was honored with the annual PaN Prize awarded by Austria’s Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. Founded in 1946, the Society has long promoted friendship and understanding between Austria and the United States through a wide range of cultural and educational activities.
